Export PDF and CSV Shopping Lists
Use a readable document or a structured table, then check that it still describes the intended purchase.
Choose the format for the job
PDF gives you a readable shopping list that can be saved or printed. CSV gives you structured rows for spreadsheet review. A print view is useful when you want the browser’s printing controls. Use a JSON backup instead when you need to restore the editable project.
The output is prepared from the current validated project. It does not send an order to a supplier, reserve stock or fetch current prices.
Review the document layout
Choose the available A4 or Letter paper option and review the preview. Long projects can span several pages. Check the project name, material descriptions, units, quantity columns and notes rather than assuming a single-page screenshot represents the whole document.
Print and document exports omit advertising. Keep the paper choice and printer scaling consistent with the document you intend to use; a printer dialog can still change the physical output.
Read quantities with their supporting columns
CSV rows represent purchase lines and preserve specification and source-input details. The table includes measured quantity, allowance, adjusted requirement, purchase count and unit, supplied quantity, surplus and available pricing.
Structured fields such as specification_json and raw_inputs_json retain detailed context. Column identifiers are stable machine fields. Quoting and escaped text are part of the CSV format; a spreadsheet should read them as cell content rather than as extra columns.
Keep missing information distinguishable
A line without a price does not have a zero cost. A volume without density does not have a known weight. Empty purchasing fields can also indicate that no package specification was selected for that quantity. Read the accompanying unit and status information.
Text that could be interpreted as a spreadsheet formula is exported defensively. If you inspect the raw CSV, an added leading apostrophe can be protection for the cell rather than part of the original project note.
Check the actual downloaded file
Open the file after downloading. Compare a few representative lines with the project: one volume, one whole-pack count, a long name and any missing price or density. Check that totals are separated by material, unit and currency as appropriate.
A successful download does not prove the inputs were correct. Review the source measurements and product information before buying. If you change the project after exporting, generate a fresh file so the list does not become an outdated record.
Frequently asked questions
Can a CSV or PDF restore my editable project?
Use the versioned JSON project backup for restoration. PDF and CSV are review formats, not substitutes for that backup.
