Material planning
Check Your Material List Before You Buy
A final check is easier when the list shows how every purchase quantity was reached.

Start with the measured parts
Read each area or room name and compare its dimensions with your notes. Check that sections do not overlap and that openings are deducted once from the correct surface. A copied room or duplicated material line deserves another look.
Do not begin by checking only the grand total. A believable total can still contain one omitted area and one duplicate.
Check what each material line actually describes
Confirm product or material identity, the selected dimensions or coverage, and the package specification. A bag count needs a yield or capacity. A carton count needs coverage. Wallpaper needs roll dimensions, match type and repeat.
If the product changed during planning, update those parameters before reusing the count. A familiar label does not prove that the old package specification still applies.
Trace net quantity to the order
Look for three stages: net quantity, chosen allowance and whole-package purchase. Confirm the allowance was applied once. Check whether purchase surplus is clearly distinguished from the allowance itself.
For a shared purchase, verify that compatible unrounded requirements were grouped before final rounding. Separate purchase groups should remain separate when specifications differ.
Read units and prices together
Check that volume and mass have not been confused and that any density has a clear source. Metric tonnes and US short tons should retain their explicit labels. A price must apply to the purchasing unit and currency shown beside it.
Missing prices are not zero prices. A list with some unknown costs should not claim a complete project total. Do not combine different currencies into one unexplained number.
Review the file you will use
Open the downloaded PDF or CSV and compare several representative lines with the project. Include a material with a fractional requirement, one rounded to whole packs and any line with a missing value. Check long names, units, allowance and pack counts.
A PDF is useful for reading and printing; a CSV can be checked in a spreadsheet; a JSON backup preserves the editable project. Downloading one format does not create the others.
Keep the estimate separate from the purchase decision
Confirm supplier specifications, ordering increments and terms before buying. The list does not place an order, reserve stock or verify a construction design. If something changes, recalculate and create a fresh export rather than editing an old printed count without its source measurements.
