Flooring Cartons for Multiple Rooms

Keep room measurements separate while buying matching flooring together.

Enter the measurements and product details, then calculate.

An area estimate, not a cutting layout. Cuts, shape and pattern placement can affect what you buy.

Measure each floor area

Enter every room that will receive the selected flooring, including small adjoining areas that are part of the project. Avoid counting a hallway both as its own area and inside another rectangle. Deduct only measured areas that will not be covered.

The coverage per carton comes from your chosen product. Do not infer it from a standard plank count or transfer it from a different product with a similar name.

Example: two rooms, one carton size

A 4 m by 3 m room and a 3 m by 3 m room have a combined net area of 21 m². A chosen 10% allowance gives 23.1 m². With an illustrative carton coverage of 2.2 m², 11 cartons supply 24.2 m².

The 1.1 m² difference beyond the adjusted requirement is purchase surplus. The allowance itself was 2.1 m²; do not describe all 3.2 m² above the measured floor as a chosen waste percentage.

Match the purchasing specification

Rooms can share a purchase group when the flooring product, coverage per carton and other relevant specifications agree. A different carton size requires a recalculation. A different product remains separate even when the package covers the same area.

Review room-to-room fitting separately

A combined area total does not optimise board cuts or guarantee that offcuts travel usefully between rooms. Pattern direction, room shapes and the fitting plan remain outside the area calculation.

Keep room names and inputs on the saved project. When one room changes, update that measurement and review the recalculated shared order before exporting a new list.

Frequently asked questions

Should I round each room to cartons first?

For one compatible shared purchase, add the unrounded requirements before carton rounding. Keep separate groups if you intend separate orders.
